Dance Artist Facilitator: Leadership through the Arts Program Pilot

Job Description (Contract Position)

Prologue Performing Arts and the School of Toronto Dance Theatre are partnering on the Leadership through the Arts Program pilot. The Leadership through the Arts Program (LAP) is a new initiative designed to foster youth leadership and support the development of school based arts projects among high school students in schools across Ontario. With the guidance of classroom teachers and mentorship from LAP artists, students will participate in workshops designed to develop leadership skills and have the opportunity to plan and execute their own arts based workshop series for an elementary class in their community.

The project will culminate with an afternoon of dance in which the high school students will facilitate a workshop for visiting elementary students. The LAP Dance Artist Facilitator will attend the afternoon (3 hours) to support the workshops. In addition, the artist will have 3 hours of planning and preparation time for a total of 16 project hours. Compensation for the project will be a total of $1,312.00.
