Statement of Solidarity

The recent events over the past few weeks have greatly impacted and deeply saddened many around the globe. They have also shone a spotlight on the widespread racial and social inequities and injustices that exist here at home. Prologue is an organization of diverse artists and communities. We stand in solidarity with Black Lives Matter, the Black, Indigenous and People of Colour in our community and we join in the calls for social justice.

Racism is a systemic and toxic form of discrimination that is also pervasive across our country and we must all play a part in dismantling it. We have taken several steps as an organization to achieve greater equity and inclusion, but we acknowledge that there is so much more we need to do.

As an act of solidarity, we will begin to implement the following:

·  We will continue to support and elevate the work of BIPOC artists within our community

·  We will be open to change and learning, while also addressing our own privileges as an organization

·  We will implement a more rigorous Action Plan by the end of 2020 in support of our anti-racism beliefs in order to address individual, institutional and systemic racism

·  We will ensure that our organization not only fully embraces equity and inclusion but takes proactive steps to combat anti-Black racism and discrimination in all of its forms
