We were planning on going to the beach in Toronto Islands, for our little year-end staff party and to say goodbye to our colleague Eric Phillipson (who just finished his one-year contract)… but it rained. So… change of plans. And we had a blast!

We spend the afternoon playing ping pong at the Pacific Junction Hotel, a whimsical bar open from 12 noon, with a definite “islands” feel to it (on King, east of Sherbourne). Everyone got quite competitive out there.

We wish Eric many great projects to come.

More about Pacific Junction Hotel
We highly recommend this place if you have to plan a week day fun event. We had the second floor to ourselves, munched on great nachos, had cool beer (or a few mojitos), fish and beef tacos, and Mac & Cheese balls.

The place also includes a pool table, a small and cute outdoor patio, and even a new radio station (Girth Radio)! But no hotel. (Located on 234 King East. Open weekdays from 12 noon to 2 am, and on weekends from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.)
