On behalf of the Board of Directors, we are pleased to announce Prologue to the Performing Arts’ new Executive Director, Tim Whalley.
A seasoned arts professional with over 15 years of experience in the cultural and not-for-profit sectors, Tim Whalley has served in leadership and strategic roles at a number of arts organizations across Toronto. Holding the position of Executive Director of Scarborough Arts for over 5 years, Tim led the organization through a period of considerable growth in scope and scale; resulting in greater impact on youth and under-served communities outside of the downtown core. Following this leadership role, Tim held the position of Associate Director of Government & Community Relations at the Luminato Festival and then at Canadian Stage. He has taught in the Gallery and Art Museum Management program at Western University – Continuing Studies and his visual art and curatorial projects have been featured in venues throughout Toronto. Tim has participated in a number of arts advocacy initiatives and currently sits on the Toronto Arts Foundation Advocacy Network and TAPA Advocacy Committee.
The recipient of a 2014 Vital People grant from the Toronto Foundation, Tim Whalley was also selected as one of the Fellows for the inaugural Toronto Arts Council Cultural Leaders Lab program in 2015 and as a participant in the Global Cultural Leadership Programme through the EU Cultural Diplomacy Platform in 2016. Tim begins at Prologue in January 2018.
