Sitar Fusion

In the Footsteps of a Great Medieval Traveler Ibn Battuta – Virtual Performance
In this performance and workshop, students are going to view a film on the great traveller Ibn Battuta. They will experience the music and dance of some of the countries that he travelled to: Morocco, Greece, Turkey, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India and China. Inspired by this journey, Anwar Khurshid will play a variety of instruments and sing while Geneviève Beaulieu dances. After the film, students will have a chance to interact with the artists. They will learn about the music and dance in the film and have the chance to ask the artist questions.
