Have you heard about SpaceFinder Toronto?
The new FREE online platform toronto.spacefinder.org was created to connect artists searching spaces with venues renting spaces in and around Toronto (for rehearsal, performance, classes, auditions, readings, exhibitions, etc).
TAPA, WorkInCulture and ArtsBuild Ontario have partnered to support a Toronto version of SpaceFinder, an initiative of Fractured Atlas in the US. As explained on their website:
“For artists, the process of finding work space can be frustrating and inefficient. Meanwhile, venues have limited resources to spend finding new renters. Earned revenue is critical for creative venues yet many rental spaces are tragically underutilized. Through the SpaceFinder program, Fractured Atlas is increasing visibility of rental options, helping artists find the space they need, and helping venues promote and rent their spaces.”
FREE to list, FREE to search platform!
There is no charge to open a renter’s account on toronto.spacefinder.org. At the end of 2014, it already includes over 325 places. Everyone is welcome to add their space. Prologue’s own Corpus dance company was one of the early adopters to jump on the wagon and pot their 1700 sq ft studio for rent.
