Nominations now open for the 2019 Arts Champion Awards

Do you know a colleague who has demonstrated a commitment to arts education and ensuring that young people have access to performing arts experiences? If so, nominate them for an Arts Champion Award now!

In 2016, Prologue to the Performing Arts launched the Arts Champion Awards to recognize educators, community leaders and presenters who work tirelessly to ensure that young people have access to performing arts experiences. The award is made annually to at least one individual who exemplifies the vision that Prologue has supported for over half a century!


Recipients of the 2019 Arts Champion Award will be acknowledged with the following:

  •  Public recognition at the 2019 Prologue Spring Showcase and in their home community
  • A custom designed Award from local glass studio
  • A free Prologue performance for their school or community
  • Public announcement through Prologue communications and local media

Deadline: April 15, 2019 @ 5pm


Eligibility Criteria

Nominees (individual being nominated):

  • Have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to arts education and ensuring access to performing arts experiences for young people
  • Must be a resident of Ontario
  • May not nominate themselves for the award
  • Must be living at the time of selection
  • Are not a Prologue staff member or serving on Prologue’s Board of Directors
  • May only receive the award once


Nominator:

  • Are not a Prologue staff member or serving on Prologue’s Board of Directors

Hear what last year’s Arts Champion Award winner Keith Scott had to say about receiving the award: “My work as an Arts Educator has been a career of making the arts come alive through creative avenues. As Arts Educators, our roles are to inspire and foster within all of our students a love of the arts. My daily goal is to promote arts literacy. I am very proud to be a teacher with the Peel District School Board, where on a daily basis I do that very thing – create creative opportunities, sing, dance, play and pretend.”

To nominate a colleague for this award, please complete the nomination form below.

You will need to include the following documentation with your submission:

  • Copy of the nominee’s CV or resume
  • Letter of support written by someone other than the nominator. (optional)
  • Any additional documents that support the individual’s nomination. (i.e. images, media articles etc.) (optional)
