Raven Stole the Sun, is a fabulous and magical creature of impulse and curiosity, who is obsessed by three mysterious boxes. A Chief, living alone in the forest with his beautiful daughter, has locked away the stars, the moon and the sun, plunging the world into perpetual darkness. Raven hatches a brilliant scheme for stealing the stars, the moon and the sun and ends up bringing light to the people of the world.

In this entertaining contemporary tale, Raven is up to his old tricks again, but this time with some interesting company. In an attempt to teach the sublime art of being a trickster, Raven has enlisted Spider and Coyote, and teaches them everything they wanted to know about being a trickster. Three tricksters are now on the loose, and audiences should be afraid. Very afraid!
After the 20-minute performance of Three Tricksters, the second portion of this presentation is an in-depth and interactive workshop with the performers. This unique opportunity allows the entire audience a rare opportunity to further celebrate First Nations art and culture by exploring the history and symbolism of the Trickster character in a fun and entertaining way. The cast will also share the creation of Three Tricksters in terms of script, movement, set and costume design, and how this work was generated from traditional oral storytelling.
