Bob Barton has delighted children with his engaging stories and tales in schools, libraries and festivals across Canada and internationally for 30 years.
After a career in teaching and with the Ontario Ministry of Education, Bob Barton has become an internationally recognized professional storyteller, author and education consultant. He is a founding member of the Storytellers School of Toronto and performs in Canada, The United States, Great Britain and Australia. He has won several awards for his efforts in promoting literacy and arts education.

Bob Barton introduces the very young student to the rhythms and conventions found in traditional tales. Even the youngest listener can figure out how these action-packed cumulative and repetitive stories work and can begin to predict what will happen next. At the same time, there is an opportunity for listeners to join in on the refrains.
Thumbelina
Grades:
2-3
Hans Christen Anderson’s Thumbelina is the delightful story of a tiny fairy human caught up in an adventurous odyssey, who endures many surprises, turns of luck, awesome moments and memorable characters. Other short Anderson tales are also featured.
Tiny Tales
Grades:
K-3
Bob’s Tiny Tales include the familiar Frog Prince story and other non-traditional tales and will become the foundation for the books that they will later read.
Northern Lights

Bob Barton has selected some of the best and more enlightening folktales from the Northern Hemisphere. Students get a glimpse into the culture and legends from Russia, Scandinavia and Canada.
Wonder Tales from Myths and Legends

5-6
Wonder Tales, with their enchanted characters and magical imagery, are the core of many traditional tales. Bob Barton brings to life this very important aspect of children’s fiction, using musical language and a sense of shared experience that guarantees a special time!

- Identify stories, myths and legends from a variety of cultures
