Jack Grunsky, a multiple Juno Award winner, is one of Canada’s finest children’s performers. His Big Blue Ball program is a spectacular success with students, teachers and parents and can help enhance and augment your school music program.
Pre-Program: advance teacher and student preparation
Your school will receive a CD sampler of Jack’s songs plus an activity guide. A few weeks prior to Jack’s arrival, 8 classrooms must choose one song each to learn and add some actions or activities.
First day with Jack: eight – 20 min. rehearsal sessions
LOCATION: Your school auditorium or designated performance area.
MORNING: Jack arrives in the morning to set up his PA system and instruments.
AFTER MORNING RECESS & AFTERNOON: Each class visits with Jack for a 20-minute rehearsal session to develop their song for the student concert.
Second day with Jack: afternoon and evening concert
AFTERNOON STUDENT CONCERT: Each class is called up from the audience to perform their pre-prepared song together with Jack, who will act as “Master of Ceremonies” and provide the musical support. The audience can include other non-participating classes up to Grade 6.
EVENING STUDENT CONCERT: The student concert is then repeated for families and friends. The format is flexible and Jack will call your school two weeks in advance to discuss details.
