How Alphie Lost His Twinkle is a charming story of a little star that comes to life with music and drawing. Through this hopeful tale, the audience explores how feelings can be expressed through music. Word patterns and images allow the audience to create rhythms and accompany a melody. This performance, by one of Canada’s finest concert saxophonists, will reveal the relationships between beat, rhythm, melody and music making while celebrating the various personalities of the saxophone family of instruments.

Willem Moolenbeek provides a memorable music history lesson. With his family of saxophone instruments, he expertly performs a range of music from the Baroque through the classic, from jazz through to the blues. Students will learn the names of various composers, styles of music and how sound is produced.
