Based in Vancouver BC, The Blues Berries have performed before hundreds of young audiences in schools and community venues across North America for over nine years. They have received three nominations for West Coast Music Awards for their CDs Little People Music, Funky Blue Diner, and Let’s Jam.
Jazz in the Gym introduces students to a variety of jazz styles in an engaging, participatory format. From blues to bebop and swing to cool, students learn how to recognize a solo and appreciate call-and-response between instruments. The Blues Berries perform many of the best-known jazz standards including Dizzy Gillespie’s Salt Peanuts and Herbie Hancock’s Watermelon Man. Get hip to their jive!
