The hidden secrets of the indigenous peoples of New Zealand are revealed in these dynamic and colourful dance theatre celebrations. With dazzling costumes and cheerful expressions, the dancers sing, spin and stomp out rhythms. Mystical and impressive, the Kahurangi Maori Dance Theatre presents a thrilling experience for audiences of all ages.
Taonga Treasures
Taonga Treasures is an energetic and visually stunning performance which celebrates the unique traditions of New Zealand's Maori culture. The performance is brought to life through stunning choreography, music and song. The distinct treasures of the Maori are made real to students through action songs as the famous haka (warrior dance) and other Maori songs and dances that use traditional implements and colourful costumes.
People of the Pacific
People of the Pacific is a dazzling, rhythmic spectacle, bringing to life the traditional songs and dances of New Zealand’s Maori and neighbouring South Pacific cultures. In addition to pieces from New Zealand, students will be thrilled by the choreography, music and colourful costumes from Tahiti, Hawaii, Samoa and the Cook Islands.
