New Artist! Showcasing at Ontario Contact 2008
Cozy Music is a fun-filled, interactive music performance for young children that entertains as well as
educates. Cosima [koh-zee-mah] Grunsky (Jack Grunsky’s daughter) is a singer song-writer who plays the guitar, ukulele, hand drum, dulcimer and a variety of other instruments from around the world. The program is a mixture of traditional and original songs with engaging melodies that explore many different moods and celebrate life and the joy of making music. With the help of her accompanying musician, Louis Vautour, Cosima demonstrates harmony singing. Her enthusiasm is infectious and volunteers are eager to join her on stage to play along or dance. Her warm-hearted performances make children feel ‘cozy’ and very much
a part of the joyful and creative experience.
Cosima has been singing and performing to live audiences since she was five years old, accompanying her dad, Juno award-winning children’s artist, Jack Grunsky: (www.jackgrunsky.com) Some highlights were singing the national anthem at a Blue Jays game in the Skydome, opening for Jim Cuddy in concert, TV appearances on ‘Mr. Dress-Up’ and the Toronto Sick Children's Telethon. To this day Cosima performs as a singer and percussionist in her dad's band.
Cosima has released 3 CD’s: the self titled, "Cosima", "24 Doors" and "The Lost Chord” Over the last 15 years she has been performing in coffee houses, clubs and concert halls from Ontario to the Maritimes. With her band she has made a number of TV appearances including Breakfast TV in Halifax, & Jonovision. She has been a featured artist at The Chicago’s Diner during Canadian Music Week, 2004. She has also been commissioned to write songs for short films.
