Dance
“inDANCE is an irresistibly spirited ensemble, (where) rarely has Bharatanatyam inspired dance seemed so much fun, for performers and audience alike”

Step, sway and move to the vivid world created by inDANCE, a South Asian contemporary dance company “informed” by the classical Indian style.
inDANCE is a Toronto-based South Asian dance company established in 1999 as a vehicle to encompass the entire range of artistic director Hari Krishnan's creative output: choreography, performance, touring, and teaching. The primary mandate of inDANCE is to form creative partnerships with Canadian and international collaborators, including choreographers, dancers, musicians, designers, scholars and presenters.
Recipes for Curry celebrates the company’s unique blending of cultures, identities and understandings in a vibrant, intoxicating experience of contemporary dance and music. A simmering personal response to the anxieties and hopes that animate global diasporas. Discordant hybrid identities, cross-cultural mis/appropriation. On the edge/fringe, marginal. Sexual/gender shifts, bias/bigotry. Shades of brown. Owning hyphenated-realities. Making peace with, and growing beyond the ubiquitous ‘burden-of-Bollywood’.
A quest to re-configure our truth, perhaps at the source…
